Beschreibung:

The course will offer beginners an introduction to statistical data analysis. After introducing the basics, important parameters are presented in the context of univariate and bivariate descriptive statistics and possible forms of representation are explained. in the context of inferential statistics, the basic principle of statistical hypothesis tests will be presented. Using practical examples, the course participants are familiarized with classical significance tests and the results will be interpreted together with regard to the primary research question. With regard to animal experiments, specifically the biometrical issues of sample size planning and possible pitfalls will be presented and discussed. The acquired knowledge will be improved and applied during subsequent exercises and practical exercises or interactive single-choice tasks and then discussed together. No previous knowledge of R/R-Studio or other programming languages or statistical software is required for this workshop.

This course consists of 4 individual sessions, the contents of which build on each other. Participation in all parts of the course is a prerequisite for the awarding of credit points.
